Boots of Levitation
Shortly after Despar Sharn’s invasion of Rotan in 2694:9, Roshilda of the halflings presented these human-sized boots to the Lords as a gift to aid them in their future adventures.

Powers: These boots allow the wearer to levitate as if she had cast levitate on herself.

Campaign lore: Forgotten in all of the activities that followed the invasion, these boots have been languishing in storage in Dragondale for the last decade. Li’kik’r recently unearthed them whilst house-cleaning.

Boots of Speed
These red leather boots are designed for smallish feet, probably a child or a halfling.

Powers: These boots enable the wearer to act as though hasted for up to 10 rounds each day. The duration of the haste need not be consecutive rounds. To activate the boots, the wearer need only will himself to move faster.

Campaign lore: This is one of the seven treasures given out by the ruler of Proxima in 2694:9. They were given to Joranth and used to fit him nicely. He left them to his daughter Reandra when he died in 2705:3.

Boots of Varying Tracks
These ordinary-looking boots are distinguished only by the paw-prints etched under their tongues.

Powers: The wearer of these boots is able to alter the tracks he leaves by jogging and thinking of the type of prints desired. The footprints of the wearer can be made as small as those of a halfling or as large as those of an ogre, bare or shod as desired. In addition, these boots can make the following four special types of tracks: Rabbit, Basilisk, Stag and Boar.

Campaign lore: These boots were discovered in Camanthalar's tower on 2693:10:15. They were worn by Artak until his kidnapping in 2705, when they went missing. The current whereabouts of the boots is unknown.

Bracers of Defence
These gold-coloured bracers are fairly large, stretching from just below the wrist to just below the elbow. They have several swirling etchings of what look like billowing clouds on the outside.

Powers: The bracers create an invisible cocoon of shielding around the wearer, providing a +6 armor bonus. This bonus does not stack with other armor bonuses. Both bracers must be worn for the magic to be effective. Damus believes that the Bracers have further, as yet undetermined powers.

Campaign lore: Damalanthas purchased these marvellous magical bracers from the Rotan Wizard's Guild for a generous sum on 2693:9:16. After Damalanthas helped save Ayak and Inky’s eggs in 2698:5, Sylvester turned the bracers golden-coloured and said 'one day'. Damalanthas has made several attempts to discover the bracers' new powers, but has not yet been able to do so. His most recent attempt seemed to indicate that the bracers are now imbued with some sort of strong evocation magic, but more than this the bard has been unable to fathom.

Cloak of Elvenkind
This cloak of neutral, grey cloth is indistinguishable from an ordinary cloak of the same colour. However, when it is worn with the hood drawn up the cloak has chameleon-like powers.

Powers: With the hood up, this cloak gives the wearer a +10 circumstance bonus to Hide checks.

Campaign lore: Euvgeni was given this cloak by the elven court in 2702:6, when he travelled to Miris to present his Twin Histories of Outreach to the elven nation.

Cloak of Protection
This cloak is a long light blue garment made of fairly heavy cloth.

Powers: Armour bonus +1; Reflex save bonus +1; cannot function in combination with any additional armour except leather.

Campaign lore: This cloak was found in the Great University of Pirs after the Priesthood of Lillyos had been vanquished in 2694:9. In 2705:9, Souriin gave the cloak (and some other items) to Damalanthas, in return for the staff of power. During their visit to Miris in 2705:11, Damalanthas gave the cloak to Flash.

Cloak of Whew
The cloak is made of a strong dark green material, with a lavendar hem.

Powers: This cloak dimension doors its wearer a random distance in a random direction when the command word (RENOGAMAI) is uttered. This is obviously fairly dangerous.

Campaign lore: This was a gift from Nesgasp to Damalanthas in 2694:5, accompanied by a note:

Activate only when death is certain. RENOGAMAI.
Damalathas gave it to Bolyan Risp as a parting gift on 2694:10:15.
Elven Boots

These soft boots enable the wearer to move without sound of footfall in virtually any surrounding. The wearer can walk across a patch of dry leaves or over a creaky wooden floor and make only a whisper of noise.

Powers: +10 circumstance bonus to Move Silently checks.

Campaign lore: Four pairs of these magical boots were given to Euvgeni, Flash, Damalanthas and Souriin by the fey in 2693:4. Flash lost his set on the island of Tilloniti in 2693:10, but was given them back by Damalanthas in 2694:2:24, after he had been released from the sword Mirthros Detriast. In the interim, Flurin had possessed the boots, stealing them from Tillon late in 2693. When she was murdered on 2694:2:25, Damalanthas took the boots back. Flash gave his boots to Sonya in mid-2694, and she has been using them since then. When Sonya is in the Rotan area, Flash occasionally borrows them back.

Damalanthas' boots were obtained from master thief Motrok during 2694:2, in return for safe passage from his estate. Damalanthas then gave his original set to Joranth, who in turn passed them on to Ammandor in the third quarter of 2694 when he obtained his Boots of Speed. During the course of his adventures, this set of boots was damaged by acid. Since owning the boots, Ammandor has had this damage repaired. Souriin’s boots have been carefully treated with some of the Oil of Timelessness, reducing the wear and tear on them.

Gloves of Dexterity
These tight-fitting, thin leather gloves are very flexible and allow for delicate manipulation.

Powers: They provide a +6 enchantment bonus to the wearer's Dexterity.

Campaign lore: The gloves were recovered from the elven palace in Miris on 2705:11:23. Damalanthas suspects that gloves were a gift to the elves from the wind dwarves, which makes them a very precious elven national treasure. They are currently at Griffon Keep

Gloves of Oops
These gloves are made of highest quality Pirsian silk and are sky-blue in colour.

Powers: These gloves stick to anything. The sticking is activated by the word EULGREPUS. The duration of the sticking force varies between 1d4 rounds (for a whisper) through 1d20 rounds (for speech) to 1d100 rounds (shouted). The gloves cannot be removed once they have stuck to something until the duration expires.

Campaign lore: The gloves were a gift from Nesgasp to Tekuna after the second game of Runestones in 2694:5, accompanied by a note:

Don't go just yet. Stick around a while longer. EULGREPUS.

Hat of Disguise
In 2704:8, Tekuna learnt that there was a Hat of Disguise somewhere within the city of Lerantu. Recently a rumour has circulated that this hat was given to someone in Meldora as a gift, but nothing further is known about this item.
Hat of Urgh

This hat is a formal top hat, grey in colour with a burgundy hat band running round it.

Powers: The hat enables the wearer to create an illusion of one of his limbs detaching itself from his torso and crawling away. The wearer has full control of the illusion, which lasts as long as the wearer concentrates. The illusion can be "clean" (when the limb detaches without blood) or gory, with a rending noise as the limb detached and squirts of blood from the torso. Attempting to detach the head using the hat is extremely dangerous. The illusion is activated by the command word REPELAMAI.

Campaign lore: The hat was a gift from Nesgasp to Irith in 2694:5, accompanied by a note:

Too tense? This'll loosen you up a bit. REPELAMAI.

Helm of the Twelve Villages
This magnificently crested helm has a deep amber-coloured gem embedded in the center of the crest.

Powers: The helm gives the wearer a +4 bonus to saves against light, sonic and gaze attacks.

Nesgasp's Grasping Gauntlets
These are both black-painted iron gloves.

Powers: The wearer can act as if he had the Deflect Arrows feat, except that he catches thrown weapons and projectiles instead of simply deflecting them; the gauntlets heal 1 hit point of any damage done to the wearer's hands or wrists each hour. The gloves make use of a resonating magical field, and both are needed before either will work.

Campaign lore: The first of these two gloves (called Fast-Catcher) was given to Euvgeni by Nesgasp in 2693:11. The second glove was given to Euvgeni by Nesgasp at the end of 2694:2, as a reward for helping in the fight against Nemesis. A note from Nesgasp, which was attached to the gauntlet, read:

Wear this over your withered hand, and you will not suffer unduly. You should be able to wield your weapons with as much skill as always. Additionally, the glove may be able to save your life. It can catch many deadly missiles if you will it to, and if you are not holding anything when you do so. Use it with caution, it is not infallible.

Nesgasp's Harkening Helmet
This helmet is halfling-sized, but otherwise quite ordinary in appearance.

Powers: This diminutive helmet gives its wearer a 90% chance to understand texts written in foreign languages and an 80% chance to understand magical writings. Note that understanding magical text does not necessarily imply spell use.

The helmet works for speech too, but needs to be activated with the command word SEGAUGNAL. Shouting this word loudly enables the speech translation function for ten minutes, speaking it normally enables it for three minutes and whispering it means speech is translated for just sixty seconds.

Dangers: Because the magical weave is slightly thin in some places, each time the command word is used, there is a one in six chance that the wearer will be unable to speak for half an hour afterwards.

Campaign lore: Nesgasp gave this to Joranth on 2694:2:25, as a reward for helping in the fight against Nemesis. The halfling left the helmet to the University when he died in 2705:3.

Slippers of Spider Climbing
These lilac-coloured ladies-sized slippers are just the right fit for a female human or an elf.

Powers: They enable the wearer to move (at a speed of 15) on vertical surfaces and even on ceilings, with hands free to function normally. They do not work on slippery surfaces.

Campaign lore: They were recovered from the Priesthood of Lillyos after the Lords revealed her trickery to Brador in 2694:9. They are now worn by Tekuna.

Thalakos’ Girdle of Strength
This wide belt is made of thick leater and studded with iron.

Powers: The belt adds to the wearer's Strength score, providing an enhancement bonus of +4.

Campaign lore: Thalakos riddled his girdle from an efreet during an adventure with Damalanthas into the fiery heart of Mount Naiva. Recently Damalanthas has learned that the girdle enables Thalakos to communicate with the cloud giant community encountered by the Lords of Rotan in 2694:5. Exactly how this works, or how often, he does not know.
