Rotan Museum

The Rotan Museum was opened in 2694, a few months after the Battle of Dragondale and the rebuilding of Rotan City. The museum is run by Inura the Short, a portly halfling. Her name reflects both her stature and her temper. The museum's exhibits include the following items:
Behir's head
Daggers of the Manticore
Dragon Paintings
Dragonne's claw and tooth
Griffon's claw and feather
Golden slippers
Jewelled dish
Lords of Time
Phylactery of Long Years
Plainsmen flute
Ring of Wizardry
Runestones

Behir’s head
This is the stuffed head of the Behir slain by Damus, Tekuna, Joranth and Owen in 2705:3.
Daggers of the Manticore

Like the Manticorum blades, these twelve daggers were fashioned from the spines from the tail of the manticore felled in 2694:4. Each dagger has an identical design except for a small disk on the hilt. This disk has been left blank so that the owner of each dagger can insert his or her personal insignia. The daggers have been on display at the Rotan Museum since their completion a decade ago. Damalanthas has recently been considering presenting the daggers to the members of the Manticorum as gifts.
Dragon Paintings

Until recently, many of the Dragon Paintings were on show at the museum. Early on the morning of the Trollish invasion of Rotan, Inura discovered that most of them had been stolen. Only the empty painting and the black dragon painting remained.
Dragonne's claw and tooth

These are a claw and tooth from the dragonne felled by some of the Lords on the plains of Simipia toward the end of 2693.
Griffon's claw and feather

These ares a claw and feather from one of the griffons from the Dragondale Bluffs. The griffon was felled in 2693:10.
Golden slippers

This pair of golden slippers was found in Camanthalar's tower on 2693:10:15. Each one is made of spun gold. The pair is extremely valuable, worth 2,400 gp together or 1,000 gp individually.

Jewelled dish
This was Darkness’ gift to Damalanthas in 2694:4. It is a silver dish with small gems encrusted into the rim. It is worth 1,200 gp.
Lords of Time

The museum contains a copy of Damalanthas book, The Lords of Time.

Phylactery of Long Years
This phylactery looks like a colourful armband with scripture written all over it. It is one of seven treasures given out by the ruler of Proxima in 2694:9.

In the original timeline experience by the Lords, this device would supposedly give the gift of protracted youth to anyone of Hicluin's faith. The physical ageing process would be slowed by one-quarter for as long as the phylactery was worn. The item could only be used by a priest of Hicluin, or one of Hicluin's faith. Since the Lords’ return from their journey to the Timeless Isle, this item appears to be non-magical.

Plainsmen flute
This flute was a gift from the plainsmen during 2693:11, in exchange for Damalanthas' lute. It has the ability to help soothe an audience or stir their spirits.

Powers: This flute grants a bard a +1 enchantment bonus to any Perform skill checks made using the flute for bardic music abilities.

Ring of Wizardry
In 2693:2, after the Druids’ Conclave had been saved of destruction, Egreera bequeathed this ring to the city of Rotan. It originally had the power to grant three wishes. In 2694:1, following the Battle of Dragondale, Souriin used two wishes from the ring to rebuild Rotan. Later that same year (on 2694:7:9), and unbeknownst to his companions, Damalanthas teleported into the museum and used the remaining wish to save his own life. He framed Athalar in the process, and although Athalar’s innocence was later proven, the true culprit was never divined.

In 2705:8, Lurik Mien -- head of the Artaforian church in Rotan -- accused Damalanthas of vandalising the ring. He claimed to have evidence to prove this. However, shortly thereafter, Lurik was implicated in the kidnap of Wanwier and the issue of Damalanthas' guilt was set aside.

Runestones
There are five runestones in this set. Collecting the stones formed the basis for the first game of Runestones on 2694:1:9, played by Damalanthas, Souriin and Irith. The five stones each have a different sigil on and radiate faint alteration magic. The runestones were used to unlock a complex door mechanism in Pirs on 2694:2:25, but were not destroyed in the process. It remains to be seen whether the stones will have any further use.
