Souriin's Truthtell

Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Sor/Wiz 3
Components: V,S,M
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Target: Living creature touched
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell forces one human, demihuman or humanoid creature to tell only the truth. Once the spell is cast, and if the target fails a saving throw, he will be compelled to speak only the truth for the duration of the spell. The spell does not force the victim to speak, but anything he does say will be the truth.

The victim believes he has said exactly what he intended to say (what he would have said if not for the spell), unless the reactions of the listeners indicate otherwise, in which case he may  receive another save (DM's discretion).

As an example, Souriin is questioning an uncooperative thief with Souriin’s truthtell. He asks: "Where is your guild?" The thief, (if he knows) will answer: "Inside Bart's Brewery in Shadow Road", but will believe he said: "I don't know what you are talking about". After the duration of the spell expires, the victim becomes fully aware of what he has actually said and will act accordingly.

The material component for Souriin's truthtell is a piece of sweetmeat, which the victim must eat before the spell is cast. If the victim looks into the caster's eyes during the casting of the spell, he saves with a penalty of -2.
