Planetary System

The planet housing Rotan and its surroundings circles its sun every 360 days. The planet has just one moon which is called Simur in the Ivrean language. Simur circles its parent once every thirty days, so the moon is in the same phase on the same day of each month.

Astronomers have noted at least six other planets in the night sky. Dominant constellations include the Tree of Life, the Serpent and Trada’s Lights. Approximately once every sixty years, a phenomenon known as the Celestial Dance can be observed. At this time the planet's path passes through a vast cloud of small comets. The fiery trails made by the comets as they enter the upper atmosphere create a magnificent spectacle. The last time the Celestial Dance was observed was in 2646.
