Ambassador Euvgeni's Reply

This is one of a series of letters sent between Souriin Draco and Euvgeni Maryamitrevnavich shortly after 2705:11:4.

Souriin.

We have been friends for over a decade -- two decades at the same time, so to speak. In that time we've done some things that were expediant at the time, for the sake of the fellowship of the rod and recently against the blight, and the illithid and the Empire.

Now we are faced with the consequences of our actions affecting more that just a fellowship.

  1. Simply put, I have to think about my position in Outreach.
  2. I have to worry about my troops who will see their leader commanding undead, thinking "what happens when I die? Do I become another Undead in the General's army?"
I will give you all my strategic assistance I can give you. I will deploy these undead troops to defend the nations who signed the alliance treaty at Ivrea. I will do all of this for a price and a condition:
The price is our friendship: I will never trust you as I once did. I will not welcome you in Outreach. Your reputation of dealing with the dead would not go down well.

The condition is: the council at Ivrea must vote unanaimously for the use of these undead caches.

Sometimes there are things that are just not worth risking for freedom, one of those is my soul, the other my conscience.

Farewell old friend for the last time
Euvgeni Maryamitrevnavich
Ambassador for Outreach
